Autumn is my favorite season on the island, and a question I get all the time from guests at Margio Bay is, “What on earth do we pack?”. Visiting Thassos in the fall is a whole different (and I think better!) experience than in July. You’re not living in a swimsuit; you’re living in layers. ( autumn packing list Thassos )

The Quick Packing List (Your 5-Minute Guide)

If you only read one part of this guide, make it this one. Here are the 5 essentials you absolutely must bring:

  • A Warm Fleece or Sweater: This is non-negotiable for evenings and early morning walks.
  • A Light Rain/Wind Jacket: A sudden autumn shower can happen. Better to have it and not need it!
  • Comfortable Walking/Hiking Shoes: The trails are calling! The Ancient Theatre, the Acropolis, the mountain villages… you’ll want good shoes.
  • Swimsuit & Beach Towel: Don’t laugh! We often get beautiful, sunny days well into the autumn. For a brave soul, the sea is an invigorating experience.
  • A Little Extra Space in Your Bag: For all the local honey and olive oil you’ll want to take home!
